First Taste of Freedom

Blair, a spirited ten-year-old, finds herself home alone in Taipei while her parents are at work. Bored and restless, she decides to embark on a secret adventure with her tabby cat, Dalton. She carefully packs a small backpack with snacks and a water bottle, ensuring Dalton has his favorite salmon treats. Their first stop is the bustling Shilin Night Market. Blair marvels at the vibrant stalls selling everything from stinky tofu to bubble tea. Dalton, safely tucked in Blair's backpack with his head peeking out, observes the scene with wide eyes. Blair buys them both a sweet treat: a castella cake for her and a small piece of grilled chicken for Dalton. As they navigate the crowded market, Blair bumps into a street performer juggling diablos. She is mesmerized. The episode ends with Blair noticing a mysterious map sticking out of the performer's bag.
