Privacy Policy

Yoh (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website https://yoh.app and the Yoh platform (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: email address, display name, username, and profile picture when you create an account.
  • Payment information: when you make purchases or connect a Stripe account to receive payouts, Stripe collects and processes your payment details. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Content: stories, series, videos, images, text, and other materials you create, upload, or publish through the Service.
  • Communications: messages, feedback, and support requests you send to us.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, actions taken, timestamps, and referring URLs.
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
  • Cookies & similar technologies: we use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyze usage. See Section 7 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Process transactions and send related information (receipts, payouts).
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, purchase confirmations).
  • Analyze usage trends to improve user experience.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: third-party vendors that help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including but not limited to:

  • Stripe for payment processing and creator payouts.
  • Google for OAuth authentication and, if you connect a YouTube channel, YouTube API Services (see Section 5).
  • PostHog for product analytics.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our advertising: the Meta Pixel records page visits, and when you sign up we send Meta a hashed email address and ad-click identifiers so it can tell which ads led to signups. We do not use Meta measurement for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.
  • Vercel for hosting and infrastructure.
  • AI providers (e.g., for video and audio generation) to power content creation features.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. YouTube and Google API Services

You can connect a YouTube channel to Yoh so we can publish videos for you. Yoh uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

What we ask Google for

  • youtube.upload — to upload and publish to your channel only the videos you choose to publish, with the title, description and privacy setting you pick.
  • youtube.readonly — only to read your connected channel’s ID, name or handle, and subscriber count, so we can show a link to your channel and your audience size on your Yoh profile. We do not use it to read your videos, comments, playlists, watch history or analytics.

What we store

  • The OAuth access and refresh tokens Google issues, and the permissions you granted, so we can publish when you ask us to.
  • Your channel ID, channel name or handle, and subscriber count (when your channel shows it).
  • For each video you publish through Yoh: the YouTube video ID, its link and its publishing status.

We use this information only to publish your videos and to show your channel on your profile. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except as needed to provide these features or as required by law.

Revoking access and deleting your data

  • You can disconnect YouTube at any time from your Yoh profile or publishing settings. Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens immediately, so Yoh can no longer act on your channel.
  • You can also revoke Yoh’s access from your Google Account at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
  • To have your stored channel details and publishing records deleted, delete your account or email us at gm@yoh.app; we delete them within 30 days, as described in Section 6.

Yoh's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, financial records).

7. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: required for authentication and core functionality.
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it.
  • Advertising cookies: record which ad or campaign brought you to the Service, and the Meta Pixel cookies described above.
  • Preference cookies: remember your settings (e.g., theme, locale).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using parts of the Service.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
